Badware nuked!

We’re happy to say that the badware problem has been completely nuked and hopefully will never return. We’ve moved hosts, locked down unnecessary services, changed passwords and beefed up security in general.

Badware problems

Hello ripplers,

We’ve discovered this morning that unfortunately the Ripple site was compromised by malware.
Some of you who are using Chrome as your browser will have seen “This site could harm your browser” type messages. We’re incredibly unhappy about this and we are very concerned that some users could be avoiding the site as a result.

WHAT WE’RE DOING: The malware has been removed and we are now working to remove the malware warnings via Google, although they haven’t responded to our initial request, and it can take up to 24 hrs. We hope to have this resolved as quickly as possible and Ripple to return to normal operations.

We are also moving hosts as a precaution as we have had some concerns about recent security incidents and advisories.

Please keep an eye on the blog for details and hopefully this will be resolved shortly.
