Facebook application press coverage

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Earlier this year facebook released an open API and allowed third party developers to put together applications for their platform.

ripple grabbed the opportunity and took our idea for a facebook app to a developer we know called Hafeez Bana. Hafeez really ‘got’ the idea and with the design help of evolution7 built the best application on facebook……………….. iripple. We’d like to commend him again on his outstanding dedication to rippleness.

Check out this article in The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald about the ripple facebook app and Hafeez’s ideas about facebook development.

ripple Zaishu drives MINI International

Mini Cover

Well…we’ve made it. ripple has been featured in MINI International. The official magazine of MINI cars….the coolest of the cool in compact transport. We are pretty pleased, particularly as the mag has a print run of 400 000 copies in 6 different languages. SIX! That’s more than one hand’s worth of fingers!

We are also pretty stoked as the kind folk at MINI International are donating some of the proceeds from their Zaishu sales to ripple! What’s a Zaishu. Well it looks kind of like this…

Check out the summary of ripple here. Can’t see it? Look closer…there we are in the bottom left hand corner!

Touch ripple

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

Thanks to Ronch and Tintin for featuring us in their hip and happening WebMag touch me. Hopefully people will now be touching ripple at a rapid rate.

One of the questions Tintin asked us was…..what would you like people to do with ripple? We gave the obvious answers…use it, spread the word and send in suggestions….etc, etc.

But when we really thought about it what we really want people to do is own it.

We want people to feel like ripple is their movement and they’re proud to be involved. For example we like it when people send in suggestions for marketing …..but what blows our metaphorical socks off is people spontaneously starting a ripple publicity campaign in their own home town…..or writing a facebook application…or starting a myspace group….or painting themselves blue and running around town spreading the ripple love and sending us hilarious photos…

If you feel inspired…join us. Let’s make ripple the first user generated poverty fighting megamachine….with blue body paint.

Send photos/reports of your rippling to hq@ripple.org
